The Youngstown Music Teachers Association (YMTA) was organized in 1933. The organization seeks to provide performance opportunities to foster the musical talent within the Youngstown area. The organization holds many honors recitals at the Butler Institute of American Art each year and also runs a yearly Ribbon Festival open to music students of all levels and interests. In addition, YMTA funds two scholarship events that provide scholarship money for high school and college students in the Youngstown area. YMTA welcomes music teachers and their students of all instruments and styles to join and participate. Reach out to Sean Baran ([email protected]) for more information about YMTA.
