Tuba Christmas

This year will mark the third year that Tuba Christmas has held their annual concert at Stambaugh Auditorium. 2017 will be the first year a craft show will be incorporated into the event. Both the craft show and the concert are free and open to the public, but free will donations will be accepted to help offset the expenses of the event.

Tuba Christmas will celebrate its 44th anniversary in 2017 as tuba players come together and perform a variety of Christmas classics. The various sizes and sounds of the instruments along with the spirit of the musicians make this event extraordinary. The idea for Tuba Christmas was conceived in 1974 by Harvey Phillips as a tribute to his teacher and mentor, William J. Bell, born on Christmas Day, 1902. The first Tuba Christmas was conducted by Paul Lavalle in New York City’s Rockefeller Plaza Ice Rink on Sunday, December 22, 1974.

For most events, the exterior doors will open one hour prior to the scheduled event start time.
The Elevator is located in the south west corner just inside the ADA / Garden Entrance on the left.
Restrooms may be found on all levels. Accessible (ADA) restrooms may be found off of the ground floor (Ballroom) lobby & across from the elevator on the balcony/third level.
